Travel Awards

Thanks to generous support from the National Science Foundation, the Chemical and Process Industry Division of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and the Quality and Productivity Section of the American Statistical Association (ASA), we are able to offer several travel awards for students and early career researchers.

The following individuals are eligible:

• Undergraduate/graduate students enrolled in programs related to statistics, data science, or quality management
• Postdoctoral scholars in research areas related to statistics, data science, or quality management
• Early career researchers (within 5 years of completing their degree) working in statistics, data science, or quality management

Preference will be given to candidates who are presenting talks or posters at the FTC (poster submissions are still open).

To apply, email the following materials to Sarah Burke at seburke89@gmail.com with the Subject Line: FTC Travel Award Application:

• A letter of interest from the applicant detailing their motivation for attending the conference and the anticipated benefits of participation
• Resume/CV of the applicant
• A letter of recommendation from a professor, advisor, mentor, or senior colleague

Applications will be accepted through July 31, 2026. Awardees will be notified the following week and must be registered by the early registration deadline (August 14, 2026).

Awardees may be requested to serve as session moderators.  A brief personal biography and a photograph will be requested from awardees for inclusion in conference materials.
