Student Travel Awards
The Chemical and Process Industry Division of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the Quality and Productivity Section of the American Statistical Association (ASA) offer travel awards to cover the cost of registration, meals (up to $75), and lodging for students (one night) who wish to attend the Fall Technical Conference (FTC). Travel expenses are not covered, but lunches during the conference are included. This year’s FTC will be held October 7-9, 2025, in Sugar Land, TX (near Houston).
Individuals who meet the following criteria are eligible:
- Undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in programs related to Statistics or Quality Management are eligible to apply for the travel award
- Would be unable to attend the conference without financial assistance.
Preference will be given to candidates who are presenting work at the FTC.
Recipients are requested to serve as room monitors or other positions for a session at the conference.
Applicants should send a letter of interest detailing their motivation for attending the conference and the anticipated benefits of participation, together with a letter of recommendation from a major professor with the Subject Line: FTC Student Travel Awards to Sarah Burke at seburke89@gmail.com
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through August 15, 2025. Awardees will be notified shortly after and must be registered by the early registration deadline (TBD). A brief personal biography and a photograph will be requested from successful applicants for inclusion in conference materials.
